Web Application Developer

Assists the Director of Managed Services and the Director of Operations. Responsible for the development and documentation of systems utilized by DirectPointe customers. Builds applications using Internet and Windows tools. Provides written design documents, test plans, and test results. Develops, integrates, and implements related applications components, including front-end development, server-side development, and database integration. Plays a direct role in programming, maintenance, technical support, documentation, and administration of the applications. Primary goal is to help DirectPointe measure and achieve success and continually raise the bar on customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creation of web-based graphical reports for Management and end-users.
• Customization of web-based internal systems.
• Development of Internet and Extranet interfaces.
• Design and implement elements into existing web applications and websites while maintaining existing branding.
• Work with other members of team to develop solutions to a variety of design-related projects.
• Participate in design of web-based systems.
• Conduct design and code reviews as required.
• Work with director to validate technical solutions used for business requirements.
• Assist in development of standards to be used with respect to use of tools and methodology.
• Follow prescribed procedures for code documentation, revision control, and system documentation.
• As assigned, participate as a member of project teams, meeting accepted milestones.
• Communicate modifications and schedule adjustments and known issues to project management.
• Stay current with industry practices and technologies to be used in the development process.
• Work with Operations during the transition from development to deployment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline desired. Two years experience with PHP, SQL Server and MySQL. Two years experience developing web-delivered, n-tier solutions. Development experience in C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and .NET Framework. Object-oriented development experience.

Specialized Knowledge or Skills
Familiarity with Visual Studio.NET tools and environments. Strong knowledge of basic telecommunications and computer network protocols. Strong knowledge of PCs, servers, routers and various software applications.
